SUMMARY:Knowledge & Nibbles – George Innes Jr.\, An Artist’s Legacy in Tarpon Springs
DESCRIPTION:In 2019 George Inness\, Jr. was inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame. For 24 seasons\, from 1902 to 1926\, Inness\, Jr. wintered in Tarpon Springs where he built a large home\, studio\, and artists’ colony\, and contributed to the cultural promotion and development of the city. For his beloved Church\, presently the Unitarian Universalist Church Tarpon Springs (UUCTS)\, he bequeathed a pantheon of paintings\, including eight large works specifically painted for the sanctuary. This two-part program will include a special tour of the 12 paintings on view in the UUCTS Church following the lecture.
