DESCRIPTION:Unsung Heroines: The Undaunted Courage of Women Composers \n  \nCome join us for a cello concert and discussion that celebrates female composers. \n  \nFor centuries\, there was a widespread belief that musical composition was beyond the scope of women\, and the prolific creative output of women composers had been glaringly ignored or forgotten. Now\, the 20th and 21st centuries are providing a fertile atmosphere for women to compose and perform music in all genres. \n  \nThere is a surprisingly vast repertoire of compositions by women for cello. Our presenter\, Theresa Villani\, has worked or been in contact with five of the six composers featured on this program\, each one writing in her own unique voice and style. \n  \nRegistration required. DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Sunset Beach Concert Series is brought to you by the City of Tarpon Springs & AdventHealth North Pinellas. Concerts are on the first Thursday of the month (February through November) and start at 7 pm. In the event of inclement weather and the concert is canceled before the start time\, the concert will be held the following Thursday. \n  \nConcessions are available for purchase.
